  1. Gee it must be good digging in that volcanic soil at this time of the year unlike the muddy clay in my area. Looks like a nice park for hunting.

  2. Agree, I have the choice of mud, clay or sand. Nice soil would be great! And your shiny digger puts mine to shame! I might have to clean it one day.

Great to see another Kiwi video. Keep them up.

  3. I get plenty of mud too! We were lucky it hadn't rained for a couple of days...........The digger........... Its a copy of a product most of us would know well. I work in a large engineering factory and have access to all the goodies. Its made of Duplex steel (stainless) and almost indestructable. The only mistake I made was to put the serrations on the right hand side (copying the original). I should have put them on the left as I'm right handed. I later learned that the man who developed the original was left handed..........hence the serrations on the right. The MK II will be off the production line soon.

  4. Ah thought I noticed a metal knob at the end of the handle that isn't normal. Any way of having those serrations sharp like a saw blade?

One problem I have noticed with the popular digger is that the serrations don't cut through Kikuyu grass roots and instead catches then lifts them up thus making for a messy plug in loose dirt. Been trying to sharpen the serrations on mine with a chainsaw file, but not working too well...

  5. Kykuyu is a real bu...r. I think if I was hunting in it all the time I would get a small spade. Mindyou the Lesche will handle it if the council keeps it mown short.

  6. Yep we get the Kikuyu here too, and it is a bugger when its long. I carry a pair of secateurs and snip it as I dig so I dont tear it out. You can file the serrations on your digger with a good quality flat file, It will take a while because those Lesche's are made of chrome molly steel and are pretty hard.
    Good Luck!
