The Dream Continues........

Back to the Field this afternoon to work over the "steer" side, they are frisky but friendly and easily bored watching a 50s something couple digging holes in their paddock. 44 more coins from this side so far, including 2 silver shillings. I like the sheriff badge, made in Brisbane Australia by Metal Products Pty Ltd under liscense to DGMT, London England. The lead horse is complete and still has some original paint. The  lens looking thing is in fact a camers lens. It has engraved around the lens....... The Aldis Uno 77 Anastigmat. I spoke to the farmer today and encouraged him to move the steers over into the long grass. Done deal! Easier detecting next time I hope. He mentioned he had lost a pocket knife, yes, the one we found last hunt. I'll be returning it to him on our next visit.
Not finished here by a long shot........stay tuned for the next exciting episode!

  1. How about taking a tent next weekend and camping on site for longer digging time. :-)

    1. Well Chris, I have actually thought about that, unfortunatly the weather here in Taranaki is pretty fickle........would be just my luck that it would hoe down and turn the field into a bog. The site is very close to the coast and is subject to the southerlys. And besides that my back and Carol's digging arm only last about 4 hrs before we pull stumps!

  2. Hmmm yeah, could be mosquito's at night the size of those steers too.
I am finding one battery on the E trac is about 3 to 3 1/2 hours and that is usually quite enough for the arms and body.
