The ring is Stg with what looks like a peridot, and how interesting with the Aussie penny and 10c. Also got 2 X $2 coins. This afternoon we went back to an old favorite school and cleaned up on some more pennys, old decimal and goldies. On the way home we noticed that a grass walkway along side the netball courts had been ripped up ready for paving. Stopped by for an hour and dug some more goldies, the bent pennys and a few old decimals. Pretty good day on the coin count, 42 in total taking the years tally over 400. I have also shown the "other stuff" apart from the junk we dug today. All the bullet cases came from the same spot. Not researched the headstamps yet but they look like 5.56 nato (.223) shells.
I started detecting in September 2010 using a second hand Bounty Hunter Quick Draw 2. I found lots of coins and junk jewellery but soon realised I needed to upgrade to something better. I now use a Fisher F4, bought in November 2010.

Two hunts and two results today............
First hunt was this morning at daylight, a very small strip of turf along side an old stone wall on the boundary of the old hospital grounds. There is a footpath running through from one street to another, I've done this place in the early days but was put off by all the junk thrown over the wall. I had a feeling there might be some goodies amongst all the trash so I decided to do it again and dig every high signal. This was the result (the good stuff!) after 40 mins.

ReplyDeleteMy main find today was $1 Australian.
Well done :) Nice lot of finds, and a great looking silver ring! Working tallys of finds for the year is a great idea! Gonna have to borrow that ;)
